Festival Fun returns to Hednesford!
Hednesford Summer Festival returns this year bigger and better than ever with a packed family fun programme for the day. Hednesford in Partnership will be delivering the event due to be held this Saturday 12th August from 11am to 4pm in Hednesford Park.
This year the event will be supported by Cannock Chase Can with officers from Cannock Chase Council, Inspiring Healthy Lifestyles and Everyone Health delivering a wellbeing offer. The Cannock Chase Can zone will provide live entertainment throughout the day including a Live band and a dance showcase. New wellness challenges will be available to take part in on the day via the Cannock ChaseCan App including the new Cannock Chase Can Dance, Everyone Health’s Fruity Facts Trail and Hunt Scruft the Dog Trail.
The event will also see the return of some firm favourites including Scrufts Dog Show, the transport show, Birds of prey, a food court, a funfair and a kid’s zone with free face painting, bouncy castles, a punch and Judy show and lots of toys to keep the young ones entertained.
Some other new additions this year include a display from the Lichfield Flyball Team, and a visit from the Carbon Bubble Tour as part of the Environment Zone where you can also observe and handle some amazing insects and beasts as well as find out more about the local environment.
Shaun Middleton, Chair of Hednesford in Partnership said “It’s great to be working in partnership with so many local organisations to deliver this fantastic community event. This year is set to be our largest event yet, with so much for all the family to see and do. We are proud that this remains a free to enter event for all the community to enjoy”.
The event this year has received funding from Hednesford Town Council and The Graham Burnett Trust. The Major of Hednesford Town Council will officially open the event at 11am at the main stage.
More details about the event and the running order for the day can be found on the Hednesford in Partnership-HiP Facebook page.
